JAPANESE GOVERNMENT (MEXT) SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2026 (TEACHER TRAINING STUDENTS)
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international teachers who wish to conduct research on school education at designated Japanese universities as Teacher Training Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program.
The Embassy of Japan in Kuwait will accept applications for (TEACHER TRAINING STUDENTS) as per the following explanation.

[Brief of Teacher Training Program Scholarship]
- Period of scholarship is from October 2026 to March 2028.
- Applicants' date of birth must be on or after April 2, 1991.
- Applicants must be graduates of universities or teacher training schools, and have worked as teachers at primary/secondary educational institutions or teacher training schools (excluding universities) in their home countries for a total period of five years or more as of October 1, 2026. In-service faculty members in a higher education institutions are not eligible.
- Applicants must have a good command of English and willing to learn Japanese language.
- Applicants must assure that they return to their home country by the end of the final month of the scholarship period and resume their work as teachers at their primary/secondary educational institution or teacher training school.
- Applicants must read the guidelines carefully and submit all the required documents by hand to the Embassy of Japan in Kuwait after schedualing an appointment.
- Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
- Late applications will NOT be considered (Any application after 03:00 P.M of the last day will NOT be accepted).
- The Embassy will start receiving applications from January 5, 2026 (Monday).
- Deadline of receiving applications is Thursday, February 5, 2026. The application screening result will be announced later by email/phone.
- Applicants who successfully pass the document screening will be required to sit for the written examination in English and Japanese language on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The result will be announced few days after the examination by email/phone.
- Applicants who pass the written examination will be qualified for the interview on a later date. The result will be announced few days after the interview by email/phone.
- Applicants who pass the examination and interview will be recommended to MEXT, and MEXT will conduct the second screening. The final result will be announced around July/August 2026.
