The Emperor's Birthday Reception

On February 18, 2025, Embassy of Japan held a reception to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor. The reception was attended by over 350 people, with the presence of the guest of honor, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as many representatives from government bodies, diplomatic corps, international organizations, businesses and media. Opening the celebration, His Excellency Mr. MUKAI Kenichiro, the Japanese Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, emphasized the longstanding and multi-dimensional relationship between Japan and Kuwait. He also extended an invitation to attend the Kansai-Osaka Expo, scheduled to open on April 13th. The reception showcased a diverse range of Japanese culture. Guests enjoyed authentic Japanese cuisine, including sushi prepared by the Ambassador's chef. A dedicated area highlighted agricultural and marine products from Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture, the birth place of H.E the Ambassador. The Embassy showcased environmentally-friendly Japanese cars from Lexus, Mazda, and Suzuki, highlighting hybrid models. These vehicles were provided through contributions from Mohamed Naser Al Sayer & Sons Est. Co. W.L.L. , Alshaya & Alsagar - Kuwait Automotive Imports Co., and Mustafa Karam & Sons Co. To further immerse guests in Japanese culture, the reception featured a traditional Japanese tea ceremony presented by "Bayan Artisan Tea," as well as displays of popular anime figures from "Figurama Collectors," providing a glimpse into contemporary Japanese pop culture.
