JAPANESE GOVERNMENT (MEXT) SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2023 (TEACHER TRAINING STUDENTS)
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international teachers who wish to conduct research on school education at designated Japanese universities as Teacher Training Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program as follows.
The Embassy of Japan in Kuwait will accept applications for (TEACHER TRAINING STUDENTS) as below.

[Overview of the Scholarship for Teacher Training Students]
- Period of scholarship is from October 2023 to March 2025.
- Applicants' date of birth must be on or after April 2, 1988.
- Applicants must be graduates of universities or teacher training schools and have worked as teachers at primary/secondary educational institutions or teacher training schools (excluding universities) in their home countries for a total period of five years or more as of October 1, 2023. Applicants must choose a major field of study related to his/her previous university study.
- Applicants must have a good command of English and willing to learn Japanese language.
- Applicants must assure that they return to their home country by the end of the final month of the scholarship period and resume their work as a teacher.
- Applicants must read the guidelines carefully and submit all the required documents by hand to the Embassy.
- Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
- Late applications will NOT be considered (Any application after 03:00 P.M of the last day will NOT be accepted).
- Embassy will start receiving application from January 8, 2023 (Sunday).
- Deadline of receiving applications is Thursday, February 23, 2023. The application screening result will be announced later by email/phone.
- Applicants who pass the application screening will have the written examination on Monday, March 6, 2023. The result will be announced in a few days after the examination by email/phone.
- Applicants who pass the written examination will have an interview on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. The result will be announced in a few days after the interview by email/phone.
- Applicants who pass the examination and interview will be recommended to MEXT, and MEXT will conduct the second screening. The final result will be announced sometime around July/August 2023.
